Frequently asked questions
Why can't I apply to some state lotteries?+
Some state housing boards reserve their subsidised homes for long-term residents and ask for a domicile certificate. MHADA, for example, requires a Maharashtra domicile certificate.
Which authorities accept applicants from any state?+
Development authorities that sell plots or flats at market-linked prices, such as DDA, YEIDA, Noida, Greater Noida, GDA, GMADA, PUDA, JDA, HSVP and HMDA, generally accept any Indian citizen, subject to each scheme's rules.
What does 'Check residency rule' mean?+
The authority's rules differ from scheme to scheme. Open the authority page and read the current brochure to confirm whether outside-state applicants are allowed.
